Network Engineer
Your Role:
- Deployment and Migration of Network Infrastructure
- Execute network deployments according to the approved implementation plan, including installation and configuration of firewalls and switches.
- Manage the migration of the current P-like environment to the new data center facility, ensuring minimal disruption to services.
- Validate connectivity and interoperability with existing systems and networks.
- Configuration and Firmware Management
- Perform L2/L3 network configuration, including routing, VLAN setup, and firewall policy implementation.
- Apply firmware updates, bug fixes, and ensure compliance with HKEX security standards.
- Document all configuration changes and maintain version control.
- System Integration and Testing
- Conduct integration activities to ensure seamless operation with current systems and networks.
- Perform acceptance testing to validate network performance, security compliance, and operational readiness.
- Provide detailed test results and remediation plans for any identified issues.
- Documentation and Operational Reporting
- Maintain comprehensive records of all installation, configuration, migration, and testing activities.
- Produce implementation reports, including change logs, test outcomes.
- Prepare weekly progress updates and final project summary reports.
- On-Site Support and Stabilization
- Deliver hands-on technical assistance during production rollout and post-implementation stabilization.
- Ensure availability during weekends and non-office hours to meet critical project milestones.
- Respond promptly to any issues arising during the stabilization phase.
- Coordination and Compliance
- Collaborate closely with HKEX internal teams and third-party vendors to ensure timely execution of tasks.
- Adhere to HKEX’s IT governance, change management, and security protocols throughout the engagement.
- Participate in project meetings and provide technical input for decision-making.
How to be succeed:
- An experienced IT network infrastructure professional responsible for providing network deployment, migration, and integration activities to support HKEX’s resilience and security standards.
- Ability to adhere to HKEX policies, procedures, and change management processes within a regulated environment.
- Flexibility to work weekends and non-office hours, including 24x7 on-call standby as required by project timelines.
- University degree in IT, Computer Science, Engineering, or related disciplines.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in network implementation and operational support. Experience in the banking or financial industry is an advantage.
- Strong hands-on experience in deploying network services and troubleshooting large-scale network infrastructure.
- In-depth knowledge of network technologies, including but not limited to routing & switching, SDN, multicast, Wi-Fi, DDI and network security.
- Professional certifications, such as CCIE or CCNP or HCIE or vendor-specific security certifications, are an advantage.
- Exposure to risk management and audit processes from a networking perspective; strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaborate across teams.
- Proficiency in Cantonese and English is required; Mandarin is an advantage.
4) Brief Project Detail:
HKEx requests the on-site secondment support for 6 months for the DC relocation project. The core scope encompasses the provision of professional services engineer resources to deliver hands-on technical support for the data center relocation project, supporting HKEX resilience, system uptime, and continual improvement. These activities extend across the deployment of enterprise-grade network infrastructure, along with integration into existing networks. The engineer will manage the migration of the current P-like environment to the new facility, perform hardware installation and setup, firmware updates, and network configuration tasks. Additional responsibilities include system integration and acceptance testing, comprehensive documentation and reporting, on-site support during production rollout and post-implementation stabilization, and coordination with HKEX stakeholders and third-party service providers to ensure timely delivery and adherence to IT and security standards.
