Business Development Manager
Overview:
Business Development Manager (BDM) – Singapore.
Reporting to the Sales Head for Singapore & Oceania, the BDM is responsible for daily engagement with customers and partners in the assigned region. Apart from maintaining and growing the business relationship with existing customers in the assigned region, the BDM is also expected to establish new customers and partners to further expand the business in the region.
The BDM will also work closely with internal PCCW Global Sales Manager, Pre-sales, Project Managers and Regional Service Manager (RSM) to deliver best in class Cloud, Connectivity and Managed solutions to customers.
Some intra-region business travel may be required from time to time for this role to participate in customer meetings and representing PCCW Global at industrial events.
Responsibilities:
- Engage in customer inquiries, qualify leads, and conduct pre-sales discussions
- Manage sales processes for Singapore based customers (mainly wholesale customers) and be responsible for customer follow ups, provision of necessary documentation (Service Order Forms, Agreements, NDA's, etc.)
- Co-ordinate customer visits, offsite meetings, attend conferences, and other sales events.
- Achieve assigned sales target.
- Maintain and grow existing businesses with Singapore based customers (Telcos, ISPs, OTTs and Cloud/IoT players, etc.)
- Formulating and implementing effective GTM sales strategies, sales forecast, reports, budgets to achieve sales targets, drive market penetration and company's objectives
- Actively reach out to new and potential customers/partners in the assigned region to grow sales revenue
- Collaborate with internal teams such as pre and post-sales, product management, regional engagement and bid team to formulate solutions to meet customer requirements.
- Coordinate with internal parties to ensure smooth delivery of customer orders and projects.
- Act as the primary customer contact for critical event management situations, taking the lead in problem resolution
- Provide regular updates and feedbacks to management on market and industry trends
Required Qualifications:
- Diploma or Bachelor's degree in an engineering or business discipline.
- Five or more years working experience, preferably in the wholesale telco and cloud connectivity industry
- Self-driven and able to work independently, as well as in a collaborative team environment.
- Proven track record for consistently meeting and over-achieving sales targets
- Knowledge of telco network infrastructure and product offerings such as L1, L2, L3 MPLS, IP Transit, IPVPN, SD-WAN, Managed Services, etc.
- Good understanding of the cloud connectivity business and associated ecosystems.
- Having some knowledge and relationship with enterprise customers would be a bonus
- Excellent customer management and problem solving skills with the ability to work through challenging situations and engage the right internal, external resources as appropriate.
- Highly detail oriented, diligent, and hard working with excellent customer interface skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent computer skills in Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Google Apps.
- Current residency and work authorization in Singapore
