Senior Software Engineer (Fullstack)

Role Overview

In this role, the Senior Software Engineer is exposed to the entire product stack and works with our globally distributed team, from refining requirements through to integration testing from our web platform products.

In addition, this role will fully engage (hands-on) in the day to day product development activities, gaining the opportunity to work on cutting-edge technologies. The Senior Software Engineer will provide technical leadership within their feature team.

Key Responsibilities

• Take ownership of product components and features, analyzing and decomposing the features, turning wireframes and sketches into working prototypes and translating prototypes into launch ready code
• Develop robust APIs for use in frontend components and backend systems
• Develop frontend components, ensuring the integrity of the UI throughout the development process

• Use implementation best practices to build high-quality components and solutions
• Manage changes in a shared repository

• Collaborate with the Product Owners to create and refine user stories and acceptance criteria
• Participate in PI Planning and create and commit to iteration plans and team PI Objectives
• Estimate the size and complexity of their work
• Participate in product accessibility, usability, security, architecture, and documentation reviews
• Contribute to Agile SCRUM activities such as daily standup, sprint planning and retrospective meetings
• Use pairing and other practices for frequent review
• Complete features and bug fixes using the test driven development process and participate in code review
• Determine the technical design in their area of concern, within architectural guidelines
• Conduct research, prototyping, and other exploratory activities
• Actively look for opportunities to enhance standards and improve code quality and development process efficiency

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer science or a related field or equivalent experience
• 5+ years of experience developing full stack applications with a focus on performance and scalability
• Experience with frontend and backend technologies and tooling, including JavaScript, React, Node.js, relational databases (e.g. PostgreSQL)

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with mongodb, BPMN (e.g. Camunda) and Java/Kotlin development
