Summary

Within Console Connect, the Vendor Management organization is responsible for managing the commercial relationships and purchasing activities with our key connectivity and datacenter vendor partners.

In line with the company mission to leverage automation to enable an industry leading self-service experience for our customers, the Vendor Management organization also needs to automate its internal processes and engagements with our vendor partners.

We are looking to hire someone into a new role to directly support that automation effort by designing and implementing the data management systems and processes required for onboarding new vendors and the services they provide and exposing data and interfaces to allow vendor and service data to be used by other automated systems and to be managed by Vendor Managers and Product Managers.  Additionally, we are working with our vendors to establish API integrations with their systems to support quoting, ordering and operation of the services they provide.

Success in this role will lead to improvements in the customer experience and greater efficiency and effectiveness of the Vendor Management organization.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Data Architecture and Engineering:

    • Design and implement data models to capture vendor, service, and cost information.

    • Develop data pipelines and automations to ingest, transform, and load data from various sources (e.g., vendor portals, APIs, manual input).

    • Create data quality checks and validation rules to ensure data accuracy and consistency.

    • Establish data governance policies and procedures to maintain data integrity and security.

  2. Vendor Engagement Automation and Self-Service:

    • Build automated workflows to streamline vendor onboarding and service provisioning processes.

    • Develop self-service tools and portals for Vendor Managers and Product Managers to access and manage vendor and service data.

    • Integrate Vendor Management data systems and processes with other systems and processes, such as order management and provisioning.

    • Develop methods to monitor performance of integrations with other systems/processes.

  3. Data Analysis and Reporting:

    • Generate insightful reports and dashboards to monitor vendor engagement automation efficiency and efficacy

    • Analyze data to identify trends and opportunities for optimization.

    • Provide data-driven recommendations to improve vendor management processes and decision-making.

  4. Roadmaps and Planning:

    • Develop, maintain and own the execution of development roadmaps and features and stories within a scaled-agile framework (SAFe)

    • Participate in the Third Party Capital ART to define the scope and specific requirements for features to be developed by our core Engineering team

    • Collaborate with other functions within Vendor Management, across other data management teams, delivery and support teams and product teams, and with vendors to understand current processes and data management systems and to establish requirements for enhancement.

    • Serve as the overall owner for the data systems and processes developed

Required Skills and Experience

  • 7-10 years of experience in data engineering or related fields.

  • Strong proficiency in data engineering tools and technologies (e.g. SQL, Python, ETL tools, data warehousing)
