Transmission Customer Engineer
Your Role:

Circuit Provisioning: Execute work orders to configure and activate transmission links across various technologies

Configuration Management: Perform logical configuration of network elements (NEs) using Network Management Systems (NMS)

Service Testing & Acceptance: Conduct and verify acceptance tests (e.g., BER testing, RFC 2544) to ensure circuits meet Service Level Agreements (SLAs) before handover.

Coordination: Liaise with Network Engineering for route capacity and port allocations, field engineers for physical patching and installation, and coordinate with the Network Operations Centre (NOC) to monitor alarms during activation.

Database Integrity: Maintain accurate documentation by updating circuit databases and "As-Built" documentation immediately following service delivery.

Troubleshooting (Delivery Phase): Resolve logical setup errors or configuration mismatches that arise during the provisioning phase to prevent delays.
To be Succeed:

Technical Knowledge: Solid understanding of transmission standards and technologies, including but not limited to DWDM, OTN, SDH/PDH, Ethernet, Satellite, Microwave

Tools Experience: Proficiency with NMS/EMS tools from major vendors (e.g., Huawei, Nokia, Ericsson, Ciena, Juniper, Teja, etc).

Operational Skills: Experience in designing and reading network topology diagrams, High-Level Design and Low-Level Design (HLD-LLD) documents, and patching schematics, ability to understand link budgets and optical levels

Soft Skills: Strong time management skills to meet strict delivery deadlines and the ability to communicate technical progress to customers, project managers, and senior management.

Preferably a university Degree in Telecommunications/Electronic/Information System/Computer Engineering or related field with 5 years of transmission experience

Understanding of transmission technologies : DWDM, OTN, SDH/PDH, Ethernet, Satellite, Microwave and GTVN. ,

Understanding of networking fundamentals : IP/MPLS, SDWAN, VLANs, …

Experience with optical DWDM monitoring systems and tools (OTDR results, power meter, ping, traceroute,...)

Troubleshooting and analytical skills

Experience in telecommunications service provider markets and support processes

Well-versed in spoken/written English

Good communication (especially telephonic), presentation and interpersonal skills
