Job Description: Pre-sales ICT Solutions Consultant

 

Job Summary

The Pre-sales ICT Solutions Consultant is a technical expert and strategic partner to the sales team, focusing on identifying client needs, designing tailored ICT solutions, and delivering compelling presentations to win new business.

This role focuses entirely on the activities prior to contract signing, including discovery, proposal creation, Proof of Concept (PoC) planning, and tender responses. 

 

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Technical Discovery & Solution Design: Engage with potential clients to understand business challenges and design high-level, cost-effective ICT solutions covering Cloud, Data Center, Network Security, VoIP, or SD-WAN.
  • Presentations & Demonstrations: Deliver technical presentations and product demonstrations to C-level executives and technical staff to demonstrate the value and feasibility of proposed solutions.
  • Tender/RFP Response Management: Lead the technical responses for Requests for Proposals (RFPs) and Request for Quotations (RFQs), ensuring compliance with technical requirements and client needs.
  • Proof of Concept (PoC) & Pilot Support: Plan and oversee PoCs or pilot implementations to validate that proposed solutions meet client requirements.
  • Costing & Proposal Preparation: Work with vendors and the internal finance team to develop comprehensive, accurate pricing proposals and bill of materials (BoM).
  • Strategic Collaboration: Act as a bridge between the sales team, solution specialist and technical implementation teams, providing feedback on market requirements and customer trends. 

 

Required Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Professional Experience: 3–5+ years of experience in ICT, specifically within a technical presales or solutions architect capacity.
  • Technical Certifications: Valid industry certifications such as CCNA/CCNP (Networking), AWS/Azure/GCP Solutions Architect (Cloud), or CISSP/CISM (Security).
  • Project Exposure: Proven track record of handling high-value RFP/RFQ/RFI (Request for Proposal) processes.
  • Industry Knowledge: Deep understanding of modern ICT trends (e.g., SD-WAN, Zero Trust, Multi-cloud, Managed Services).

 

Skills & Competencies

  • Problem Solving: Identifying technical gaps and risks within complex client requirements.
  • Leadership & Influence: Leading cross-functional teams (Sales, Ops, Product) to deliver a unified proposal.
  • Strategic Communication: Using targeted questioning to uncover hidden client needs and motivations.
