Senior Product Manager, Capacity Management

Role Overview

The Senior Product Manager is responsible to monitor and evaluate the international cable capacity to meet current requirements and future market trend in a cost-effective manner. The position will be responsible for achieving product performance targets set by the Company.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Support market analysis for new subsea cable planning and propose new submarine cable investment.
  • Keep track and provide proactive monitoring on the inventory utilization and its trend, and provide recommendation for capacity upgrade alert the Management when exceeding the threshold
  • Evaluate and analyse the market trend against the company inventory status and the newly available cable systems to match the product development
  • Provide regular update and briefing on the available, planned new capacity and new cable systems to the Sales and Presales
  • Prepare regular budget and inventory forecast according to market trend and revenue forecast
  • Provide regular and ad-hoc KPI performance reports to Finance and Management
  • Prepare business cases for management approval on capacity upgrade and expansion projects
  • Interface with Cable Planning and Transmission Engineering teams to ensure the accuracy of the lit up capacity and associated costing for the own cable investment
  • To develop new automation inventory system of cable capacity to prepare for budget and inventory analysis report.  This includes online portal services that allows different stakeholders to access the data & reports.

 

Requirements

  • A University Degree holder or equivalent in Business / Engineering / Information Technology or related discipline 
  • At least 5 year experiences in regional or global Telecommunication industry 
  • Knowledge of submarine cables systems, IPLC and Ethernet Services, OSS/BSS business process and latest telecommunication technologies would be an advantage.
  • Knowledge of Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) would be an advantage
  • Strong results orientation, with a successful track record of timely achievement of aggressive goals within budget
  • Self-motivated, creative, initiative and analytical with good business judgment/acumen
  • Good project management skill, presentation skill and interpersonal skill with ability to mobilize a global cross department virtual team
  • Good command of English, both verbal and written
  • Occasional overseas Travel is required
