Senior Business Planning Manager

As our business grows and transforms into a digital platform, we are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Business Planning Manager to join our team. Reporting to the AVP of Business Planning, the successful candidate will have a strong finance and business planning background, excellent communication skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.

 

Your Role

  • Budget Application Process:
    • Review budget applications and supporting materials, evaluate profitability, collaborate with the initiators to obtain required documents, and liaise with Group Finance to facilitate their review and address follow up questions and comments
  • Capex Management and Reporting:
    • Work closely with Group Finance during the month end closing, ensuring accurate Capex tracking, reconciliation, and preparation of periodic management reports and analysis
  • Rolling Capex Forecasts and AOP:
    • Lead the preparation of rolling Capex forecasts and the Annual Operating Plan (AOP), including partnering with budget holders, consolidating inputs, performing variance analysis, and preparing presentation materials for senior management
  • Process Enhancement and Automation:
    • Review, enhance, and standardize existing processes, policies, and documentation to align with evolving business needs, improve efficiency, strengthen controls, and reduce operational risk, with a clear roadmap to automate key workflows and prepare the function for future AI‐driven transformation
  • Cost optimization:
    • Participate in virtual project teams to review and analyze the current cost structure, provide relevant financial information and analysis, and support data‐driven decision making on cost optimization initiatives
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration:
    • Collaborate with teams across Finance, Sales, Pre‐Sales, Products and other functions to support planning, performance tracking, business cases and ad‐hoc analysis, ensuring alignment on key assumptions and outcomes
  • Ad hoc project:
    • Support the AVP of Business Planning on the ad hoc project, e.g. cost reviews, strategic initiatives and other management requests

 

To Succeed in this Role

  • Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related disciplines. Strong capex / investment governance experience preferred over formal qualification
  • Around 10+ years’ experience in business planning, capex or finance operations, ideally in large corporates or telecom / technology environments
  • Strong analytical and problem‐solving skills, able to translate complex financial data and deal structures into clear profitability and business insights
  • Proven time‐management and process discipline, with the ability to handle multiple cases, meet tight deadlines and manage stakeholders.
  • Mature, self‐motivated and accountable, with solid business acumen and sound judgement.
  • Strong stakeholder and communication skills, comfortable working with Finance, budget initiators, management and driving follow‐ups professionally
  • Advanced Excel and good PowerPoint / Word skills; familiarity with ERP / financial systems (e.g. Oracle) and collaboration tools (e.g. Google Workspace, SharePoint)
  • Good command of written and spoken English and Chinese (Cantonese & Mandarin).
  • Candidates with less experience may be considered for Business Planning Manager; immediate availability is an advantage
