Purchasing Manager
Your role
- Set and steer the direction for IT procurement categories, ensuring supply availability, adherence to quality standards, and delivering the best value to the companies.
- Formulate and manage strategic relationships with IT suppliers. Conduct regular reviews to ensure supplier performance and quality.
- Take ownership of the IT Tender, RFP, and RFQ processes, driving results from issuance to completion. Ensure tenders are properly issued, evaluated, shortlisted, negotiated, accepted and completed following purchasing policies and procedures.
- Work with cross-functional teams, including IT, finance, legal, and business units, to align procurement strategies with overall business objectives.
- Conduct assessments to understand the specific needs and requirements of different teams and ensure procurement aligns with those needs.
- Provide support and guidance to stakeholders during procurement activities, helping them navigate the process and make informed decisions.
- Responsible for compliance of procurement policy, procedures and certification requirements. Regularly review and update practices in line with emerging best practices. Gather feedback from stakeholders on procurement processes and supplier performance to identify areas for improvement.
- Perform cost analysis and provide insights on cost-saving opportunities. Contribute to IT purchase savings plans and provide insights on achieving desired outcomes within the Group.
To succeed in this role
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in purchasing and supply chain management with a focus on IT procurement. Procurement experience in a sizable organization, specifically in IT, is preferred.
- Understanding of IT products, services, and market trends to make informed purchasing decisions.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to address procurement challenges and find effective solutions.
- Ability to review contracts and provide responses to the scope of work and tender requirements, ensuring compliance with standards.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and deliver results within deadlines.
- Strong negotiation and influencing skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities, enabling effective partnerships with internal & external stakeholders.
