Purchasing Executive

Your role:

  • To ensure sources of supply such as office supplies, office services and in-house delivery are established by competitive means as appropriate.
  • To review available sources, conduct trade enquiries, invite tenders, evaluate offers and recommend awards in the best interest of the Company.
  • To ensure quotations/tenders are properly evaluated, and to approve acceptance of those in accordance with the authorization limit.
  • To ensure purchase orders are properly placed and endorse those in accordance with the authorization gird.
  • To negotiate contracts for the supply of goods and services tactfully and to ensure agreements reached contain terms and conditions not disadvantageous to the Company.
  • To negotiate with suppliers/contractors for better terms and conditions in the supply of goods and services.
  • To ensure contracts/supply agreements are accomplished within the scheduled time frame.
  • To analyze and prepare preliminary commercial evaluation of offers.
  • To assist the Purchasing Manager in the administration and running of a buying team.
  • To supervise the daily work of subordinates and resolve problems as appropriate.
  • To take up any other duties as assigned by management.

 

  • Immediate availability is preferred

 

To succeed in this role:

  • Holder of Associate Degree or Degree holder in IT, Procurement and Supply Chain, or other relevant discipline.
  • Minimum 3 years’ purchasing experience in a sizable organization.
  • It is advantageous to have experience dealing with key stakeholders from the facility management and engineering departments.
  • Membership and/or qualification from a procurement professional body (e.g. CIPS, ISM or equivalent) would be an advantage.
  • Prior experience in procurement related to critical infrastructure sectors such as Electricity, Transportation, and Telecommunications is highly desirable.
  • Good command of both spoken and written English and Chinese (Cantonese and Putonghua).
  • Strong analytical, interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in PC applications including MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Self-motivated, ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
