Manager, Compliance & Risk Advisory
Your Role
- Provide proactive compliance advisory support to business stakeholders on regulatory requirements under the Insurance Authority (IA), including GL-3 (Guideline on AML/CFT) and other relevant Hong Kong regulations.
- Serve as the primary liaison with the Insurance Authority (IA) on all regulatory compliance matters.
- Monitor, review, and interpret regulatory updates, guidelines, and circulars issued by the IA and other relevant authorities.
- Partner with control functions (e.g., Legal, Risk, Compliance) to ensure the insurance agency business adheres to all applicable regulatory requirements.
- Ensure ongoing compliance for existing insurance products and support new business initiatives in line with regulatory expectations.
- Support the development, implementation, and enhancement of enterprise and operational risk management frameworks.
- Identify, assess, and monitor key risks, including: Regulatory risk, Operational risk, Conduct risk, Technology risk
- Provide compliance advice on new product launches, business initiatives, and digital healthcare services.
- Assist with regulatory inspections, inquiries, submissions, and reporting obligations.
- Conduct compliance risk assessments, control reviews, and ongoing monitoring activities.
- Support incident management processes, including investigations and remediation tracking.
- Design and deliver compliance training and awareness programs for business teams.
- Provide advisory and training support on Hong Kong regulations, including Trade Descriptions Ordinance (TDO), Personal Data (Privacy) Ordinance (PDPO), Prevention of Bribery Ordinance
- Collaborate with key internal stakeholders, including Legal, Audit, Operations, and Technology teams.
- Participate in and/or lead risk and compliance projects, regulatory change initiatives, and process improvement activities.
To Succeed in this Role
- Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in:
- Enterprise Risk Management (ERM)
- Operational Risk Management
- Compliance Advisory within insurance (IA-regulated) or banking (HKMA-regulated) institutions.
- Strong understanding of Hong Kong regulatory frameworks, particularly Insurance Authority requirements.
- Knowledge of digital health or telemedicine regulations is an advantage.
- Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and advisory skills with the ability to influence business decisions.
- Experience engaging with regulators or working within a regulatory body is highly desirable.
