Group Legal Adviser

This role provides comprehensive legal and regulatory support to the Group's Consumer and Mobile Services business. The incumbent will serve as a trusted legal business partner to commercial, product, technology, marketing and operations teams, providing practical and commercially focused legal advice to support business growth, digital innovation and regulatory compliance. The role involves advising on a broad range of commercial, telecommunications, consumer protection, privacy, technology, competition and corporate matters while managing legal risks across the business.

Your new role

• Provide legal support and advice to the Consumer and Mobile Services business on commercial and operational matters
• Draft, review and negotiate commercial agreements, including customer, supplier, technology, partnership and procurement contracts
• Support new product launches and business initiatives by providing legal and regulatory guidance
• Advise on telecommunications, consumer protection, data privacy, regulatory and compliance matters
• Identify legal and regulatory risks and recommend practical mitigation measures
• Manage disputes, claims, investigations and litigation matters with external counsel where required
• Monitor legal and regulatory developments impacting the telecommunications and digital services industry
• Develop and maintain contract templates, policies and governance frameworks
• Deliver legal training and promote legal and compliance awareness across the business

To succeed in this role

• A qualified lawyer with a minimum of 5-8 years of relevant post-qualification legal experience in an internationally recognized jurisdiction
• Solid experience in commercial legal practice, with a particular focus on regulatory and compliance matters. Strong commercial experience gained at an international law firm or in a prior in-house role is essential. Experience in the telecommunications, mobile, or consumer-facing sectors would be a significant advantage,
• Commercially-minded, practical, responsive and focused on problem-solving, with proven success not only in identifying legal and regulatory risks, but in finding workable solutions to reduce risk to acceptable levels to enable the business to operate efficiently and intelligently.
• Strong experience in commercial contract drafting, negotiation and legal risk management
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills with the ability to influence at all levels
• Self-motivated, proactive and able to work independently in a fast-paced environment
• Strong analytical, organisational and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
• Excellent command of written and spoken English and Chinese (Cantonese); Mandarin is an advantage
