Assistant Vice President, IT Cybersecurity

The Assistant Vice President, IT Cybersecurity will be responsible for managing cybersecurity projects and initiatives within the IT Department at HKT. This role requires a strong understanding of cybersecurity principles, project management methodologies, and industry best practices. The AVP will lead project teams, manage project budgets and timelines, and collaborate with various stakeholders to ensure the successful implementation of cybersecurity solutions and the protection of HKT's assets.

Your Role:

  • Project Leadership: Lead and manage cybersecurity projects from initiation to completion, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.
  • Project Planning & Execution: Develop detailed project plans, including scope definition, resource allocation, risk management, and communication strategies. Oversee project execution, monitoring progress, and proactively addressing any issues or roadblocks.
  • Stakeholder Management: Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including IT teams, business units, and senior management, to define project requirements, secure approvals, and ensure alignment with business objectives.
  • Cybersecurity Solution Implementation: Oversee the implementation of cybersecurity solutions.
  • Risk Management & Mitigation: Identify, assess, and mitigate project-related risks, ensuring that appropriate controls are in place to protect HKT's assets.
  • Compliance & Governance: Ensure projects adhere to relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards, such as PCI DSS, ISO 27001, and other applicable frameworks.
  • Reporting & Communication: Prepare and present project status reports to stakeholders, highlighting progress, risks, and recommendations.

To Succeed in Your Role:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field. Master’s degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 15 years of experience in IT, with at least 5 years of experience in cybersecurity project management roles.
  • Proven experience in managing complex cybersecurity projects, including the implementation of security solutions and technologies.
  • Strong understanding of cybersecurity principles, including risk management, incident response, vulnerability management, and security architecture.
  • Solid understanding of project management methodologies, such as Agile, Waterfall, or Scrum.
  • Experience with project management tools and techniques, such as project planning software, risk management frameworks, and issue tracking systems.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and stakeholder management skills. Ability to effectively communicate technical information to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Relevant certifications such as PMP (Project Management Professional), CISSP (Certified Information Systems Security Professional), CISM (Certified Information Security Manager), or equivalent are highly desirable.
  • Familiarity with regulatory requirements such as PCI DSS or industry standards like ISO 27001 is preferred.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
