Assistant Vice President, Capacity Management

Role Overview

 

The AVP is responsible to plan and augment the global submarine cable capacity to meet current and future business requirements in a cost-effective manner. The position will be responsible for achieving product performance targets set by the Company.

 

Key Responsibilities

 

  • Act as a team leader and interface with peers to ensure the cable investment portfolio align with the performance target
  • Source and prepare market analysis for new subsea cable planning and investment
  • Negotiate the terms and conditions with submarine cable providers on agreements, contracts and order forms
  • Prepare business cases and profitability analysis for management approval on capacity investment, upgrade and expansion projects
  • Prepare regular Capex / Opex budget and usage forecast according to the inventory status. Analyze the revenue and costing to prepare for on-going forecast and AOP
  • Provide regular and ad-hoc KPI performance reports to Finance and Management
  • Track and proactively monitor the inventory utilization and its trend, and initiate capacity upgrade to maintain the capacity threshold
  • Manage cable portfolio and maintain accurate inventory of PCCWG’s all submarine capacity including subsea and terrestrial cable systems with more than 50 cable systems
  • Provide regular update and briefing on the available, planned new capacity and new cable systems to the Sales, Presales and internal teams
  • Interface with Cable Planning and Transmission Engineering teams to ensure the accuracy of the lit up capacity and associated costing for the own cable investment

 

Requirements

 

  • A University Degree holder or equivalent in Business / Engineering / Information Technology or related discipline
  • At least 8 year experience in global Telecommunication industry
  • Well versed and knowledgeable on submarine cable systems, IPLC and Ethernet Services, OSS/BSS business process and latest telecommunication technologies.
  • Strong results orientation, with a successful track record of timely achievement of aggressive goals within budget
  • Self-motivated, creative, initiative and analytical with good business judgment/acumen
  • Good project management skill, presentation skill and interpersonal skill with ability to mobilize a global cross department virtual team
  • Good command of English and Chinese, both verbal and written
  • Occasional overseas Travel is required
