Assistant Stores Manager

Your Role:

 

Manage day-to-day warehouse operations, including receiving, inspection, storage, picking, packing, and dispatch, with a hands-on approach to warehouse activities.

• Ensure timely and accurate preparation and fulfillment of customer orders.

• Optimize warehouse layout, space utilization, and storage capacity to improve operational efficiency.

• Monitor warehouse productivity and implement continuous process improvement initiatives.

• Maintain inventory accuracy through cycle counts, stock reconciliation, and annual stock-taking exercises.

• Ensure compliance with company policies, ISO standards, health and safety regulations, and follow up on internal audit corrective actions.

• Coordinate effectively with cross-functional departments including Purchasing, Sales, Engineering, and Finance.

• Analyze warehouse performance data and develop KPI dashboards to support operational decision-making.

• Leverage Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), Business Intelligence (BI) tools, and digital technologies to enhance inventory visibility and workflow efficiency.

• Support the implementation and adoption of AI-driven and automation solutions for demand forecasting, inventory optimization, warehouse analytics, and process improvement.

• Identify opportunities to utilize data analytics, AI tools, and emerging technologies to improve operational efficiency, resource planning, and customer service levels.

• Lead, coach, and develop warehouse staff to foster a culture of safety, accountability, continuous improvement, and digital transformation.

 

 

To succeed in this role:

 

• Degree or Diploma in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related discipline.

• Minimum 5 years of experience in warehouse, logistics, or operations management, preferably in a contract logistics environment.

• Proven experience in team leadership, process improvement, and operational excellence projects.

• Strong knowledge of warehouse operations, inventory management, and contract logistics.

• Hands-on experience with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), ERP systems, Microsoft Excel, and Business Intelligence platforms (e.g., Power BI).

• Knowledge of AI applications, automation technologies, and data analytics in supply chain or warehouse operations is highly preferred.

• Ability to interpret operational data, generate insights, and make data-driven decisions to improve performance.

• Familiarity with digital transformation initiatives, warehouse automation, barcode/RFID systems, and inventory tracking technologies.

• Good command of Cantonese and English, both written and spoken.

• Strong communication, problem-solving, analytical, and stakeholder management skills.

• Experience in ISO certification, internal audits, compliance management, and continuous improvement methodologies is preferred.

• Knowledge of Lean, Six Sigma, or other operational excellence frameworks will be an advantage.
