AVP, Commercial and Business Development

We are seeking an experienced, strategic Assistant Vice President (AVP) to drive business growth, manage key accounts, and secure corporate customers for our cutting-edge connectivity solutions. The ideal candidate will have a strong telecommunications background, deep knowledge of Mobility, IoT, and roaming, and a proven track record across Mainland China, Hong Kong, and the APAC region. The successful applicant must bridge the gap between technical and commercial domains, utilizing solid technical acumen to map products to customer requirements while employing an entrepreneurial market sense to proactively capture opportunities within high-growth IoT vertical industries.

 


 

Key Responsibilities

  • Sales & Vertical Exploration: Drive revenue by selling Global Travel SIMs, IoT Solutions, and MVNE solutions to global corporate clients. Proactively penetrate target IoT verticals (e.g., Automotive, Smart Logistics, Smart Cities).

  • Account Management: Nurture international client relationships to maximize customer success, retention, and upselling opportunities.

  • Technical Consultation: Act as a trusted advisor, deep-diving into complex client workflows to translate vertical technical needs into value-driven business propositions and tailored designs.

  • Market Expansion & Strategy: Leverage a sharp market sense to identify regional commercial opportunities, monitoring APAC trends and competitor movements.

  • Cross-functional Collaboration: Partner with product, engineering, and operations teams to align solution feasibility with client requirements and vertical market demands.

  • Pipeline Management: Maintain an accurate sales pipeline and deliver performance forecasts to senior management.

 


 

Job Requirements

Education & Experience

  • Degree: University degree holder, preferably in Engineering, IT, Computer Science, or a related technical discipline.

  • Experience: Minimum 10 years in the telecommunications industry with a proven track record in B2B corporate sales, commercial strategy, and key account management. Experience selling into specific IoT vertical segments is highly desirable.

  • Market Knowledge: Deep familiarity, established networks, and strong market sense within the telecommunications and IoT ecosystems in Mainland China, Hong Kong, and APAC.

Skills & Competencies

  • Technical & Commercial Acumen: Strong understanding of cellular connectivity, roaming, IoT ecosystems, and MVNO/MVNE business models. Proficient in pricing strategy, contract negotiation, and managing the end-to-end B2B sales cycle.

  • Market Sense: Ability to analyze industry shifts and turn insights into actionable sales pipelines within targeted verticals.

  • Communication & Languages: Exceptional skills in articulating complex technical concepts to diverse stakeholders.

    • Fluent in spoken English, Cantonese, and Mandarin.

    • Proficient in written English and Chinese (Simplified and Traditional).

  • Attributes: Self-motivated, result-oriented, and capable of working effectively in a multicultural environment.

 


 

Working Conditions

  • Travel: Willingness to travel regionally (Mainland China and APAC) from time to time for client meetings and industry events.
