Job Description - HR Manager, Foshan Location

Reporting to: BU HRBP / Regional HR Lead

 

Role Purpose

Lead site-level HR operations in China, with focus on probation management, labor contract tracking, local compliance, and supporting business needs through close partnership with BU HRBP, China HR Advisory, COEs and People Managers.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Own the probation framework and review cadence, ensuring timely assessments, documentation and follow-through on performance cases.
  • Provide regular probation and contract tracking reports, highlighting risks and recommending actions.
  • Oversee labor contract lifecycle, ensuring renewals/terminations meet China Labor Law and internal policies.
  • Manage contract-related disputes and ER issues, escalating to BU HRBP / legal where needed.
  • Act as primary Location HRBP for the site, advising managers on performance, ER and policy matters.
  • Partner with L&OD and COEs to support manager capability building and annual HR cycles (performance, rewards, etc.).
  • Coordinate with Trade Union on cultural, sports and welfare activities; ensure consistent coverage where no on-site union exists.
  • Act as on-site focal point during severe weather, coordinating communication, actions and documentation; support BCP at site level.
  • Coordinate work-schedule and other legal entity matters with China HR Advisory, Global Rewards and local authorities.
  • Ensure HR systems and records are accurate for probation, contracts and ER cases.

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in HR, Business or related discipline.
  • 7+ years HR experience, including 3+ years as HRBP/HR Manager in Mainland China.
  • Strong knowledge of PRC labor law and ER.
  • Experience in a matrix or multinational environment preferred.

  • Ability to view issues holistically and across functions, connecting interdependencies to provide well‑balanced assessments and integrated HR support.
  • Strong communication in Chinese and English; able to handle difficult conversations.
