Senior Information Security Specialist

We are seeking an experienced threat intelligence specialist to support our organisation's efforts in safeguarding our systems, data, and information assets. The Senior Information Security Specialist (Threat Intelligence) is a critical role, responsible for developing, implementing, and maturing our threat intelligence capability. You will be instrumental in enabling proactive defence measures by staying informed about emerging threats.

This role requires deep expertise in the full threat intelligence lifecycle, from collection and analysis to dissemination and integration with all risk management, controls design, and security operations.

Key responsibilities

  • Inform and execute on the strategic roadmap for the threat intelligence function, aligned with the organisation's goals and industry best practices

  • Establish and manage the end-to-end threat intelligence lifecycle, including planning, collection, processing, analysis, and dissemination of actionable intelligence

  • Actively monitor the threat landscape to identify emerging threats, TTPs (Tactics, Techniques, and Procedures), and vulnerabilities relevant to the organisation's attack surface and industry sector

  • Create high-quality, timely, and relevant threat intelligence reports and briefings for various stakeholders, including governance, risk and compliance,  security operations, vulnerability management, and senior leadership

  • Ensure threat intelligence is effectively integrated with security tools and processes to enhance detection, prevention, and response capabilities

  • Develop and maintain security artifacts (e.g. templates, standards and procedures) that can be used to enhance security capabilities

  • Evaluate, recommend, and manage threat intelligence platforms and tools, driving automation for efficient data collection and analysis

  • Provide technical guidance and support to Information Security Officers as required

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure threat intelligence is integrated into the development and deployment processes

  • Effectively communicate with executives, partners, suppliers and internal customers



Core competencies, skills and experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security or related field

  • 5+ years of experience in information security, including dedicated experience in a threat intelligence role

  • Deep expertise in threat intelligence frameworks and methodologies such as MITRE ATT&CK, Cyber Kill Chain, Diamond Model

  • Extensive experience with intelligence gathering tools, platforms, and sources such as OSINT, commercial feeds, dark web monitoring

  • Proficiency in data analysis, report writing, and presenting complex technical information to both technical and non-technical audiences

  • In-depth knowledge of cyber security principles, best practices, and industry standards across a range of technologies

  • Knowledge of various security standards and frameworks such as ISO 27001, OWASP, NIST 800 series, CIS controls

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively interact with stakeholders at all levels of the organisation

  • Experience with risk management methodologies and frameworks

  • Industry certifications such as CISSP, GCTI, or relevant vendor certifications are desirable

  • Previous experience working in telecommunications or cloud industries desirable

  • Previous experience working in an Agile environment is desirable
