Position Overview
The Scrum Master / Team Coach acts as an operational leader and agile mentor for globally distributed agile teams under Technology team, operating within a Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) structure. This role drives iteration execution, optimizes delivery flow, and manages technical risks and dependencies to ensure predictable value delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Team Facilitation & Planning: Facilitate all SAFe team events (Daily Standups, Iteration Planning, Backlog Refinement, Iteration Demos, and Retrospectives) and guide team preparation and execution for PI Planning.
- Flow & Delivery Execution: Monitor daily team velocity, lead capacity allocation against agreed guardrails, and manage workflow to ensure predictable delivery of committed objectives.
- Dependency & Risk Management: Track and resolve cross-team and external dependencies; identify, clear, and escalate delivery roadblocks and risks to program leadership.
- Governance & Operational Readiness: Ensure team delivery complies with corporate IT standards, security mandates, and business readiness procedures early in the delivery lifecycle.
- Delivery Metrics and Reporting: Ensure high data quality across project tracking tools and leverage team flow metrics to inform empirical performance improvements.
- Vendor Coordination: Facilitate communication with external vendors to support team-level sourcing, procurement, and administrative workflows.
- Coaching & Continuous Improvement: Coach teams on SAFe practices and Lean-Agile mindsets, translating retrospective feedback into actionable delivery enhancements.
Requirements & Qualifications
Experience & Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
- 4+ years of IT industry experience, with at least 2+ years in a dedicated Scrum Master role.
- Proven experience delivering within a SAFe or multi-team scaled enterprise environment.
- Demonstrated history of Scrum Master / Agile Coaching as a primary career path.
Technical & Functional Knowledge
- General understanding of software development lifecycles, IT infrastructure, IT security standards, and DevOps principles.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to facilitate effectively across cross-cultural and distributed teams.
- Hands-on experience with Jira, Confluence, and other industry-standard project management tools.
- Familiarity with vendor coordination, procurement processes, and IT governance protocols.
Certifications
- Certifications (Preferred): Industry Scrum Master or Scaled Agile Framework certifications
