Location: UK/ Greece 

We are seeking a senior software engineer to join our newly created team in developing a new generation of products. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in JavaScript and RESTful API development You will be responsible for designing and implementing new features, writing unit tests, and refactoring existing code. As the pioneer in this team, you would be helping to build the team and leading them. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Below are some of the responsibilities a senior software developer is expected to assume:  

• Design, build, test, and deploy software applications and features
• Carry software products through the software development life cycle (SDLC)
• Write clean, concise, and efficient code
• Manage code documentation and version control
• Work in an agile environment to release software on a regular schedule
• Troubleshoot and debug software
• Work with business analysts to define software requirements
• Actively look for opportunities to enhance standards and improve code quality
• Participate in on-call rotation to respond to production issues

To be successful in this role, you should have:

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, software engineering, or related field
• 6+ years professional experience with at least one programming language (e.g., Java, Python, JavaScript)
• Prior experience in leading and supervising a team is an advantage. 
• Working knowledge of data structures, algorithms, and computer science fundamentals
• Back-end development expertise
• Familiarity with SaaS and cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud)
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills
• Experience with build tools such Maven, Git, JUnit
• Familiarity with network design
