Assistant Finance Manager

Job Description
This person plays a vital role in supporting the finance department, ensuring smooth financial operations, and contributing to the company's financial health. This position involves a blend of financial management, analytical, and administrative responsibilities.
Key responsibilities
- Financial Reporting and Analysis:
- Assisting in the preparation of accurate and timely financial statements (balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements), reports, and forecasts.
- Knowledge in IFRS and US GAAP accounting guidelines
- Conducting financial analysis to identify trends, variances, risks, opportunities, and recommending improvements to profitability.
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams to provide financial insights for decision-making and business planning.
- Compliance and Internal Controls:
- Ensuring compliance with financial regulations and reporting standards (USAC and FCC regulations, Govt. reporting)
- Developing and maintaining financial systems and procedures, including internal controls, to ensure accuracy and compliance.
- Knowledge / working experience with Oracle / Epicor / Hubspot and any other financial tools desierable.
- Accounts Management and Reconciliation:
- Managing accounts payable and receivable team members, ensuring accurate and timely processing.
- Managing and reconciling bank statements and financial accounts.
- Audits and Tax Preparation:
- Assisting in the preparation of audit materials and supporting both internal and external audits.
- Work with Tax accountant in assisting tax return preparation and ensuring compliance with tax laws and regulations.
- Other responsibilities:
- Supervising month-end closing processes.
- Coordinating with external auditors.
- Providing training to finance staff.
- Participating in the development and implementation of financial policies and procedures.
Required skills and qualifications
- Education: A Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field is typically required.
- Experience: Relevant financial experience, with a focus on analysis, reporting, and budgeting is important. Experience within the telecommunications industry is beneficial.
- Technical Skills: Key technical skills include proficiency in financial analysis and modeling, accounting principles, Oracle / Epicor / any other financial tools, and strong Excel skills. Knowledge of budgeting, forecasting, and relevant tax laws is desirable.
- Soft Skills: Important soft skills include strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication abilities. Attention to detail, ability to work in a team, organizational skills, integrity, and adaptability are also valued.
- Certifications: Professional certifications such as CPA or CA are preferred.
