Data Analyst
Key Responsibilities:
Data Analysis: Leverage your advanced knowledge of tools (Amplitude, GAM, GA4, Tableau etc.) to
analyse large datasets, uncover trends, and provide actionable insights.
This will be across Platform Performance as a whole, AVOD and SVOD Campaign performance, and Title
Performance across the board and recommendations on optimisation of the platform to deliver
maximum efficiency.
Content Performance and Audience Insights
• Creative Data Interpretation: Develop innovative and creative, actionable insights into content
performance, beyond basic metrics, by exploring factors that drive the success or failure of
content.
• Viewer Behaviour Metrics: Analyse average watch time, percentage of viewers who complete
content, and viewership by device (e.g., iOS, Android, CTV, Web), identifying trends in content
engagement.
• SVOD and AVOD Insights: Generate more comprehensive insights into SVOD performance,
leveraging Google Analytics to uncover additional metrics beyond Tableau. Compare content
performance on AVOD and SVOD and identify gaps and opportunities for programming and
content curation.
• Demographic Insights: Develop methods for collecting and analysing demographic data in
compliance with POPI Act regulations, exploring preferences such as language, subtitled content,
and peak viewing times.
• Viewing Behaviour and Content Discovery: Analyse viewing behaviours, content discovery
trends, search terms, and the effectiveness of content recommendations.
2Marketing and Social Media Performance
• Marketing Push Results: Evaluate the impact of marketing campaigns on content performance,
incorporating insights from Google Analytics and other tools.
• Social Media Sentiment: Track and report on social media activity, including likes, shares,
comment volume, sentiment, and reviews.
• Audience Churn and Return Rates: Analyse churn rate and return rate (new vs. returning users),
providing insights into viewer retention.
Advertising Insights
• Ad Campaign Performance: Utilise Google Ads Manager and other tools to analyse the
effectiveness of ad campaigns, measuring ad completion rates and viewer drop-off during
commercials.
• Ad Performance Reporting: Develop reports to track the number of ads displayed per content
piece and user engagement with advertisements.
Market Share and Competitor Analysis
• Market Share Comparison: Analyse and report on viewership trends compared to other
platforms, identifying competitive advantages and areas for growth.
• Competitor Insights: Monitor and analyse competitors' marketing strategies, offering insights
into OTT industry trends and emerging market dynamics.
Reporting and Visualisation
• Comprehensive Dashboards: Create and maintain detailed reports and dashboards that give
stakeholders easy access to relevant data.
• Data Visualization: Present insights through compelling visualizations, aligning with brand
guidelines to support informed decision-making.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
• Objective Setting: Work closely with cross-functional teams to align data insights with business
objectives, optimizing content strategies and marketing efforts.
Trend Analysis
• Content and Media Consumption Trends: Continuously evaluate media consumption habits,
emerging trends in streaming, and evolving subscription models.
• Ad and Campaign ROI: Calculate the return on investment (ROI) for both ATL and OOH
campaigns, measuring the effectiveness of digital and traditional advertising strategies.
3Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree (preference in Data Analytics, digital campaign management, Marketing, design).
Proven experience in data analysis and reporting, with proficiency in Google Sheets, Excel, G Suite,
PowerPoint, preferably within a digital and/or streaming environment.
Strong analytical skills and the ability to translate data into actionable insights.
Excellent communication skills to convey complex data findings clearly and effectively.
Self-driven with a strong work ethic and commitment to meeting deadlines.
Adaptability and the ability to work independently within a team environment.
