Engineer - Training Unit

The Job:

Accountable to the Senior Engineer (Training) for the administration of the Training Unit of the Civil Aviation Engineering (CAE) Section. To assist Senior Engineer (Training) in organizing and/ or delivering general and specialized air traffic control (ATC) system or related trainings based on the Civil Aviation Department (CAD) approved Air Traffic Safety Electronics Personnel (ATSEP) framework to meet the training requirements as stipulated in the CAD technical services contract.

 

 

  • To work with Senior Engineer (Training) for the provision of the Training Programme and Training Plan for the section
  • To set training syllabus and course contents to ensure that the courses satisfy the CAD requirements
  • To conduct ATC System/ Equipment and general trainings for all CAE technical staff
  • To conduct and review the CAE equipment courses in order to provide effective training for the CAE technical staff
  • To assist the Senior Engineer (Training) for ensuring the compliance of ISO 9001 standards for the Training Unit administration
  • To manage the Training Record and Competence Record of the section
  • To assist Senior Engineer (Training) for issuing of Competence Certificate
  • To prepare training reports
  • To coordinate with outside parties for external courses to fulfil additional training needs
  • To carry out all logistical duties of the Training Unit

 

The Person

1. Academic/Professional Qualifications and Working Experience

  1. University degree/ Higher Diploma in Electronics Engineering or equivalent,

                                                                     and

  1. With at least 6 years of working experience in air traffic control systems engineering, 3 years of which is in supervisory position for operating and maintaining the air traffic control systems for international airport(s)

                                                                       or

  1. With at least 12 years of working experience in operating and maintaining the ATC systems for international airport(s), 6 years of which is in supervisory position.

 

2. Knowledge/Expertise

Sound knowledge in:

(a) Air Traffic Control (ATC) Systems

(b) Electronics and/or Radio Techniques

(c) Information and Communication Technologies  

 

3. Relevant Personal Attributes/Skills

(a) Good presentation skills with ability to delivery technical subjects systematically and logically.

(b) Dedicated interest in technical training and staff development.

(c) Effective interpersonal, presentation and communication skills.

(d) Self-initiated, self-motivated, and able to work independently with limited resources.
