Assistant Vice President, Regulatory Affairs and Compliance
Your Role:
- Providing regulatory and compliance advice internally on media issues, including:
- Reviewing practices and product (i.e. content) offerings to ensure compliance with statutory, licence and standards requirements relating to pay TV, free TV and OTT
- Conducting internal investigations to ensure compliance and drafting responses when inquiries or complaints relating to pay TV, free TV and OTT are received from the regulator or other sources.
- Liaising with stakeholders internally to generally educate, train, support and assist as to licensing, regulatory and compliance issues, queries, consultations, etc
- Maintaining a relationship with external parties, in particular OFCA, including:
- Responding to filing requirements, complaints, inquiries, consultations, etc on regulatory and compliance matters
- Lobbying the regulator in relation to media issues which impact the Company
- Liaising with industry participants to achieve business objectives
To Succeed in this Role:
- University degree holder in Law, Media or related disciplines
- Minimum 8-10 years relevant experience in the media industry and compliance/regulatory matters
- Able to maintain relationships with internal stakeholders and be able to find solutions to regulatory and compliance problems while complying with regulatory obligations and achieving business objectives
- High degree of common sense, commercial awareness and practically.
- Problem identification and solving abilities are important. Able to operate under pressure.
- Less experienced candidates will be considered for a Senior Compliance Manager position which is also available
